My Soul is Exceedingly Heavy…

The sorrow of The Lord is upon me so heavily tonight. Judgement must not be far off. It has never been this strong. Almost to the point of being nauseating. Oh, world, please cry out to Jesus The Son of God! He is The only way to The Father in Heaven, The one and only God! If you are on the fence, cry out alone in private. Ask Him if He is real. He knows your thoughts. Please don’t put it off. Time is running out. I implore you now. Time is up. God’s People are feeling the hurting with The Holy Spirit inside. Oh, weary soul, find rest, find salvation and eternal life now!

 Matthew 26:38 (KJV)

Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.

Micah 4:1  (KJV)

But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.

Psalm 42:11 (KJV)

Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

Don’t Pass This Up!

Hebrews 3:12-19  (KJV)

12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.

16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.

17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?

18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?

19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

A Christian in the Home Stretch…

This is for all the beat up Christians. The worn out, weary Soldiers of God. Your families are falling apart. Relationships are collapsing. You never thought you’d find yourself here. Your latest, most frequently used word may be “Why?” That old vice of yours comes softly knocking. Send Jesus to the door instead.

Remember this is what’s worth fighting for! What most people don’t get anyway is that we are living in a spirit world. Hence the fighting of spiritual battles…for those who go against the grain in Satan’s fallen world.

Maybe you thought the home stretch would be smooth sailing and here we are…

(Via Merriam-Webster)

Definition of homestretch

  1. 1 :  the part of a racecourse between the last turn and the winning post

  2. 2 :  a final stage

You know, last night I was praying to God about all that is going on right now and about my personal struggles as a human being. I received amazing Holy Spirit revelation on a particular matter.  All of my life since about the age of 7, I have been dealing with gaining weight and the many roller coasters of trying to get it back off. I developed Bulimia in my teen years but by The Power of The Spirit of GOD ALMIGHTY I found recovery! You can read my eating disorder and recovery story HERE.

So last night in prayer, the revelation was that my carrying around of all this excess weight is an ongoing physical manifestation of a spiritual (and mental) problem. So I need a spiritual solution.

Negligence. I am self-medicating in turning to food for relief and comfort instead of turning to God. Yes, I now have an actual relationship with Him through Jesus Christ, but there must be something or some things that I am not surrendering. I’m not surrendering myself to my Master completely. If I turned to God for help in times of distress instead of food, there would be no side effects. This Bible verse came to mind right then last night:

Image result for Hebrews 12:1 kjv

Ironically in my life, one of those weights is my weight! It does hinder me in many ways. This is definitely something I am jumping in to explore right now. God clearly wants our bodies to be healthy and we know that sickness and disease is not of Him. The enemy knows our struggles and weaknesses.

I believe if I simply work on taking better care of my health right now until Jesus calls me Home or until He comes back for His Bride, I will live a far better life.  I could serve The Lord better, physically fit and confident in witnessing and in Church attendance. I will have more energy and great opportunities await. ALL FOR THE GLORY OF GOD! THANK YOU JESUS!

I prayed over myself before going to sleep that all of the strongholds, hindrances and chains be broken over me and my life in The Mighty Name of Jesus! I prayed in faith believing!  These chains are broken in Jesus’ Mighty Name! Thank YOU LORD! My body is God’s Holy Temple so I know HE will lead me into all of this and I will come out better than ever, or die or be raptured in the process!

So let us remain constantly in prayer in the final moments of the Age of Grace just before our Lord’s return. Be encouraged Christian Soldier. No matter how great the mountain before you, remember your GOD goes before you and will fight for you!!!

Romans 8:37  King James Version (KJV)

37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

Are you hurting?

You may be thinking right now, “I’ve made a mess of my life.” Listen to this truth. GOD uses our mistakes, the broken pieces of our hearts and our pasts for His Glory! If you simply surrender to Him, acknowledge you are a sinner and Jesus is The Son of GOD, the only Way to The Father. And repent, turn from your old ways, the things you used to do. The things that led to your downfalls and sufferings. The things that make you cringe. You can be made new. The scars remain on your body, but on the inside of you something so POWERFUL and SUPERNATURAL happens when you call upon the Mighty Name of The LORD JESUS CHRIST! The Son of The LIVING GOD will set you free! The things that have held you back from so long will be set aside by The Most High. You will never be the same. Salvation is free for ALL who thirst. Since I first tasted that Living Water I’ve never been the same…oh there IS POWER in the NAME of JESUS! BE set free today, precious one! Save not only this life, but what matters. ETERNAL LIFE. Where will you spend eternity? There’s so much more than this life. Even if you’re one of the few that make it to 100. This is nothing compared to forever with no end. Don’t put it off. Make the best decision of your life right now while you still can. Jesus is waiting in anticipation, listening in matchless love. Be blessed in Jesus’ Name.

Come Taste The Grace

I realized that God is more than just to be feared. He truly wants a relationship with ME. He loves ME. He loves YOU. So much that He left Heaven and died on that Cross.

Jesus took the COMPLETE WRATH of God The Father upon Him. The death that I should be dying. The sentence He knew I would be guilty of thousands of years before I was born…He offered Himself up for Me. Even ME.

I just want to completely soak HIM in. I want to walk with Him and talk with Him. I want our relationship to be stronger. I want us to be closer. In fact, I want Him to draw me into the very heart of HIM. I want to be right there. I just want Jesus. He wanted me and had been waiting on me all along. He could see the path I would follow and the many dark detours I would take.

God watched over me when I got sick with a Bipolar Manic episode. I turned away from Him. He knew all of the terrible things I would do, people I would do wrong, and the suffering to come. He NEVER left my side. The verse that says He will Never leave you nor forsake you….I have experienced God in the dark.

comeasyouare

We all come to know Lord Jesus in our own ways, on our own unique paths. Each and every one of us has a past. A story. And It matters to Him! Not just because of the wrong and the sin…but because of what JESUS wants to do in your life!!! He is the life-healing glue that put me back in place. He’s my everything. I was His Everything before I was ever even aware of it.

So I know that if my GOD has brought me this far in life, He certainly is NOT going to let me down now.

If you don’t have your own relationship with Jesus right now, today is the day to seek Him. We aren’t promised tomorrow. No one can save you but Jesus. And it is only you that can approach The Savior who awaits you with outstretched arms.

I encourage you to come to the Fountain of Living Water…you will NEVER thirst again…

Seek Jesus today.

Turn away from the sins in your life and leave the old you behind on the Cross, or repent. You are PAID FOR in full! Accept this Salvation today. If you believe that Jesus Christ is the SON of the Living GOD, then the Word of GOD says you must act upon your faith, upon your confession, be baptized, just like Jesus was in the Book of Matthew…down into the water, immersed. Jesus is our example. After we are baptized into the Body of Christ, then we must simply live faithfully the rest of our lives, walking with God.

Acts 2:38  ”  Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

Bring your broken heart, bring your disease and sickness, bring your addiction, bring your grieving….bring everything to His feet. Actual HOPE can only be found in Christ. He freed me when I didn’t even know I was in chains…

So today I’m asking Him,

Let me experience you on a whole new level, Father. I’m ready.

Healing Music, Set Me Free

You Don’t Care At All

So many wasted days
Thinking all I’ve done is all that I am
So many lonely nights on my own
But it’s a funny thing
You see my heart so differently
No matter what I feel or where I go
I still don’t quite understand

How all of my yesterdays
All of my past mistakes
You’ve thrown them all away
You don’t care at all
You don’t care at all
No matter what I do
What I am going through
It’s already died with you
You don’t care at all
You don’t care at all

Old me is out the door
He won’t be living here anymore
You simply spoke my name and set me free
I still just can’t believe
When I was lost and running away
That You would see a heart worth redeeming
And I’ll never quite understand

How is it that I am Yours and You’re mine?
Why would You know me
When I’m so unworthy of mercy and You’re divine?
You still made me holy

You don’t care

Greater

Bring your tired
Bring your shame
Bring your guilt
Bring your pain
Don’t you know that’s not your name
You will always be much more to meEveryday I wrestle with the voices
That keep telling me I’m not right
But that’s alright

Cause I hear a voice and he calls me redeemed
When others say I’ll never be enough
And greater is the One living inside of me
Than he who is living in the world
In the world
In the world
And greater is the One living inside of me
Than he who is living in the world

Bring your doubts
Bring your fears
Bring your hurt
Bring your tears
There’ll be no condemnation here
You are holy, righteous and redeemed

Every time I fall
There’ll be those who will call me
A mistake
Well that’s ok

Cause I hear a voice and he calls me redeemed
When others say I’ll never be enough
And greater is the One living inside of me
Than he who is living in the world
In the world
In the world
And greater is the One living inside of me
Than he who is living in the world

Woah ohhh ohhhh ohhh
Woah ohhh ohhhh ohhh
He’s Greater
He’s Greater
Woah ohhh ohhhh ohhh
Woah ohhh ohhhh ohhh
He’s Greater
He’s Greater

There’ll be days I lose the battle
Grace says that it doesn’t matter
Cause the cross already won the war
He’s Greater
He’s Greater

I am learning to run freely
Understanding just how he sees me
And it makes me love him more and more
He’s Greater
He’s Greater

There’ll be days I lose the battle
Grace says that it doesn’t matter
Cause the cross already won the war
He’s Greater
He’s Greater

I am learning to run freely
Understanding just how he sees me
And it makes me love him more and more
He’s Greater
He’s Greater

Cause I hear a voice and he calls me redeemed
When others say I’ll never be enough
And greater is the One living inside of me
Than he who is living in the world
In the world
In the world
And greater is the One living inside of me
Than he who is living in the world

There’ll be days I lose the battle
Grace says that it doesn’t matter
Cause the cross already won the war
He’s Greater
He’s Greater

I am learning to run freely
Understanding just how he sees me
And it makes me love him more and more
He’s Greater
He’s Greater
He who is living the world

Flawless
There’s got to be more
Than going back and forth
From doing right to doing wrong
‘Cause we were taught that’s who we are
Come on get in line right behind me
You along with everybody
Thinking there’s worth in what you do

Then Like a hero who takes the stage when
We’re on the edge of our seats saying it’s too late
Well let me introduce you to amazing grace

No matter the bumps
No matter the bruises
No matter the scars
Still the truth is
The cross has made
The cross has made you flawless
No matter the hurt
Or how deep the wound is
No matter the pain
Still the truth is
The cross has made
The cross has made you flawless

Could it possibly be
That we simply can’t believe
That this unconditional
Kind of love would be enough
To take a filthy wretch like this
And wrap him up in righteousness
But that’s exactly what He did

No matter the bumps
No matter the bruises
No matter the scars
Still the truth is
The cross has made
The cross has made you flawless
No matter the hurt
Or how deep the wound is
No matter the pain
Still the truth is
The cross has made
The cross has made you flawless

Take a breath smile and say
Right here right now I’m ok
Because the cross was enough

Then Like a hero who takes the stage when
We’re on the edge of our seats saying it’s too late
Well let me introduce you to grace grace
God’s grace

No matter the bumps
No matter the bruises
No matter the scars
Still the truth is
The cross has made
The cross has made you flawless
No matter the hurt
Or how deep the wound is
No matter the pain
Still the truth is
The cross has made
The cross has made you flawless

No matter what they say
Or what you think you are
The day you called His name
He made you flawless
He made you flawless

No matter the bumps
No matter the bruises
No matter the scars
Still the truth is
The cross has made
The cross has made you flawless

This is Who I Am
I’m a son of a good man
I’m the child of an angel
I’m the brother of a wild one
And I’m looking for direction
I’m the lover of a beauty
I’m the father of blessings
I’m a singer of a love song
But is that all I’m good for

This is who I am
This is who I am
So take me and make me something so much more
This is who I am
This is who I am
So change me and make me someone better than before

I’m a saint and a sinner
I’m a lover and a fighter
I’m a true believer, with great desire
I’m a preacher of grace, prophet of love, teacher of truth
I’ve fallen down so many times
But here I stand in front of you

Take me as I am
But please don’t leave me that way
‘Cause I know that you can make me better than I am today

Slow Down
Tell me to slow down
If you think that the road that I’m on is going nowhere
Tell me to slow down
If you know that I’m going too fast for my own good
Tell me to slow down
If the way is leading to a dead end
Tell me to slow down
Turn around, let me change the way I’m going

Oh, I don’t want to let go
Of all the things that I know
Are keeping me away from my life
Oh, I don’t want to slow down
No, I don’t want to look around
But I can’t seem to work it out
So help me, God

Tell me to slow down
If you see that I’m running too fast in the wrong race
Tell me to slow down
If you think that I can’t keep up with my own pace
Tell me to slow down
‘Cause you know if there’s ever any question
Tell me slow down
Turn around, and I’m changing my direction

Lift Your Head Weary Sinner
Lift your head weary sinner, the river’s just ahead
Down the path of forgiveness, salvation’s waiting there
You built a mighty fortress 10,000 burdens high
Love is here to lift you up, here to lift you high

If you’re lost and wandering
Come stumbling in like a prodigal child
See the walls start crumbling
Let the gates of glory open wide

All who’ve strayed and walked away, unspeakable things you’ve done
Fix your eyes on the mountain, let the past be dead and gone
Come all saints and sinners, you can’t outrun God
Whatever you’ve done can’t overcome the power of the blood

If you’re lost and wandering
Come stumbling in like a prodigal child
See the walls start crumbling
Let the gates of glory open wide

If you’re lost and wrecked again
Come stumbling in like a prodigal child
See the walls start crumbling
Let the gates of glory be open wide

If you’re lost and wandering
Come stumbling in like a prodigal child
See the walls start crumbling
Let the gates of glory open wide

If you’re lost and wrecked again
Come stumbling in like a prodigal child
See the walls start crumbling
Let the gates of glory be open wide
Let the gates of glory be open wide
Let the gates of glory be open wide

Turn Around
Young man on the side of the road
Lost and beat up with no where to go
Smells like a hangover from days ago
He does what he can to survive

Single mom with a dead end job
Ninety hour week just to keep what she’s got
With the bills that add up and now she’s caught
She does what she can to survive

Well, let me say
That love won’t take away the pain
But don’t be afraid
‘Cause it will never walk away

If you’re scared that you don’t matter
If you’re lost and need to be found
If you’re looking for a Savior
All you gotta do is turn around

Some turn to a bottle
Some turn to a drug
Some turn to another’s arms
But it seems like it’s never enough

Well I won’t say
That you will ever fail again
But there is grace
To wash away your every sin

If you’re scared that you don’t matter
If you’re lost and need to be found
If you’re looking for a Savior
All you gotta do is turn around

No one listens to you anymore
And your heart has broken down, you don’t need to move
Love has come to you, all you gotta do is turn around
All you gotta do is turn around, turn around

You don’t have to
Take the broken road
You can turn around
And come back home

You don’t have to
Take the broken road
You can turn around
And come back home

You don’t have to
Take the broken road
You can turn around
And come back home

If you’re scared that you don’t matter
If you’re lost and need to be found
If you’re looking for a Savior
All you gotta do is turn around

No one listens to you anymore
And your heart has broken down, you don’t need to move
Love has come to you, all you gotta do is turn around
All you gotta do is turn around, turn around

Changed Forever
I’d heard Your name, but never seen Your face
Been touched before but never Your embrace
Had a soul to lose and the world to gain
But then You whispered my name

And I heard the truth but never from Your lips
Bought the lies of many counterfeits
Dreamed my dreams, but they were never in color
And I searched for You and many others

I was down for the count

Then I saw Your face
Just a glimpse of Your face, and my whole world changed
Then I saw Your face, and I was changed forever
Changed forever now
Then I saw Your face
One glimpse of Your face, it’s a whole new game
Then I saw Your face, and I was changed forever
Yours forever now

If I could reach the stars, I could touch the sky
And if I spread my wings, I could almost fly
I had everything paper could buy
I was lost in my disguise

And if I played my role, they would feel my style
If I bought the night they would buy my smile
I’ve been runnin’ this game for a million miles
Believin’ my own lies

I was down, I was out

I was blinded by my selfish dreams
Everything ain’t what it seems
From inside to out, there ain’t no doubt
I been changed

NOTHING SHORT OF satisfaction
Your love caused a change reaction
I can tell you this much I FELT your touch
And I’m changed

When I was down for the count, YOUR love surrounded me
Blink of an eye
I saw my destiny

Change, rearranged ’cause I couldn’t maintain
The heart it took to even stay in the game
One look in Your eyes even I realized
A fellow like me had been put down to size
To be built up in a better way, Your way
Yahweh ain’t about to fade
Bombastic, ain’t no way to mask it
I saw Your face, and my old way’s blasted

I’m Yours forever now

A sharp sting and dull ache at the same time.

Earlier today, while looking through the guest bedroom, I happened to glance up at an old, framed family photo. A thousand memories flooded my mind. The contrast between everything I know today…and who and where we were back then…is just jaw-dropping. Oh, how everything has changed. I’ve heard that my whole life, but this morning it really sunk in.

Of course, people change throughout their lives, one stage to the next. A sharp sting and a dull ache at the same time. The troubles we knew then were nothing compared to the ones to come. Gazing at myself in the picture, my tiny 16 year old body…frail inside and out, I recalled all I was dealing with at the time in high school. Rejection. Bulimia. Becoming a Christian. The successes in extracurricular activities. My broken heart. Comparison, comparison. I can’t imagine what it’s like to be a teenager attending public school in today’s world…

Now, here I sit a strong woman of God. I’m no different than any other Christian, just trying to live the rest of my days faithful to Jesus, to God. My heart goes out to that confused and broken girl. In the end it was all in my head. Yes, I had some real issues to be tended to, but so much deception by the enemy himself as I chose Jesus. I didn’t know about spiritual warfare. At least not how real it really is.

Choosing Jesus is the best thing you could ever do. People won’t always understand why you’ve changed…how you changed. Your lifestyle, goals, worldview. Following Jesus means walking the straight & narrow road, traveled by few. Sometimes you feel alone, especially if you have no support at home. But you see, in this wilderness...you are transformed. In what seems to be the darkness, something beautiful happens. You find out who you are. That you were made for more. You are a Child of God.

Soul Carrier

My body was never good enough as a teenager and into my early twenties. I had this poster of Britney Spears I held as my high standard. As close as I got…even being able to buy a single digit size 2 piece, It did NOT look like the poster! I absolutely did NOT look right. I shed so many pounds! I even did some toning and kickboxing and still no.

The fact is, not everybody’s body is gonna look like the 18 year old Britney Spears centerfold that I kept as a measuring tool!

I would NEVER accept the reality that only a small percentage of women have the physical makeup capable of pulling off a bikini look like hers.  But now, looking back as a 30 year old woman, I feel like a caged bird set free!!!

I found Recovery from my eating disorder at 22, but it was when I finally considered myself as my own unique type of beauty that things began to change. My stubborn self-criticizing mind fought it so hard. I resisted this new way of thinking to the max and then some.

Basically, to sum it up.,..

Through years of Bulimia, depression, therapy, Bipolar hospitalizations, eating disorder outpatient groups, and constant comparing myself to other women (famous and non-famous) I have learned that I am enough. I am okay. You see, for me it was all about rejection. The lies of the Devil himself led me to constant negative thought patterns, 24/7. I hated my life, my body…i hated myself. I was going against myself. My own worst enemy.*

*Note: I was NOT my own worst enemy. Satan, the devil himself was…and is now for everyone.

One day I had an awakening. This body of mine that I hated, the very cause of my unhappiness,  that I even self harmed over the years, was more than my body.

This is my Soul Carrier!

My flesh that I walk in and live in every day of my life contains something so delicate, so precious, so much more…

My Soul! My TRUE Being is operating from inside my now plus-sized, unique body. Becoming a Christian makes this the Temple of God. I am not my own. I was bought at a price. Though I didn’t believe that for years, the freedom I have NOW within the knowledge that I was believing lies…is priceless. Yes, ultimately it is

Jesus = freedom. You know in the Bible there’s a verse for this feeling.

“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
-Philippians 4:7

It is possible to absolutely hate yourself, what you look like & think your life is over…and still overcome it all to find peace that is out of this world. I’m here to tell you it can be done, no matter what the circumstances. Everybody has their own personal story and journey. All of the clothes I bought in debt, gym memberships, and all other attempts to perfect this look i had in my head, totally don’t have to have ’em! I am beautiful, fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God Himself, just as you are! Shopping sprees, binging on sweets and stuff only puts a Band-Aid on the pain. There is relief. Peace, out of this world.

It’s Good to Seek Wisdom

Liz Curtis Higgs By LIZ CURTIS HIGGS

“When the queen of Sheba heard about the fame of Solomon and his relationship to the LORD, she came to test Solomon with hard questions.” 1 Kings 10:1 (NIV)

Lysa TerKeurst

Anytime my mother wanted to put me in my place — let’s say I was flouncing around the kitchen in some dime-store costume, wearing borrowed makeup and putting on airs — she shot me a stern look, one eyebrow arched: “Who do you think you are? The queen of Sheba?”

If she meant to scold me, it didn’t work. Sorry, Mom. Being the queen of Sheba sounded positively delicious. To my way of thinking, she was Delilah, Nefertiti and Cleopatra all rolled into one — an exotic beauty from a foreign land with wealth, power and appeal beyond anything a small-town girl could fathom.

Is that how you’ve imagined her too? Then it’s time to meet the real queen of Sheba and leave the Hollywood version behind.

A leader of uncommon boldness and vision, this real-life queen traveled from the ends of the earth to seek wisdom, drawn to King Solomon’s doorstep because of his bond with the One true God, who was wisdom Himself.

This remarkable woman journeyed for two months across an unforgiving desert — on a camel. All we have to do is cross the room, reach for our Bibles and God’s wisdom is ours for the taking.

Maybe that’s the problem. His Word is so convenient, it’s conveniently forgotten. I’ll read it later. I’ll start tomorrow.

Or we wait until we’re desperate for answers, then don’t know where to find them. We aimlessly flip from one chapter of the Bible to another, looking for a verse that will magically solve everything.

The queen of Sheba took a different route. As we see in our key verse, she put her royal life on hold and made seeking wisdom her number-one priority. Here’s what she teaches us about wisdom by her good example:

1. Wisdom requires time.
We say, “Time is money,” but the truth is, time is worth more than money. It can’t be bought, sold or bargained with. Each minute ticks by, never to be seen again. If we can spend 10 minutes each morning bathing in a hot shower, we can spend at least 10 minutes being cleansed by His Word. “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom” (Psalm 90:12, NIV).

2. Wisdom requires sacrifice.
When I first embraced the grace of God, He clearly instructed me to unplug my television and start reading the Bible. Do what?! It was hard at first, but as the months went by, I forgot about what I was missing and rejoiced in what I was learning. “The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding” (Proverbs 4:7, NIV).

In case you’re curious, the television eventually returned, but with greatly diminished appeal. God’s plan, absolutely!

3. Wisdom requires humility.
I hate admitting I don’t have all the answers, yet that’s what seeking wisdom is all about. It’s saying, “Lord, I haven’t a clue, but You do.” Admitting, “I don’t know, but I know the One who does.” Only then will God’s wisdom be revealed for what it is: His and His alone. “When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom” (Proverbs 11:2, NIV).

As the queen of Sheba discovered, information is interesting and facts are fascinating, but wisdom is world-changing. Wisdom is the resource we bring to the workplace, the encouragement we offer to our friends, the gift we give to the body of Christ, the legacy we leave for our children.

However full our schedules, adding just one more line to our to-do list can make all the difference: Open God’s Word. Find wisdom there today.

Father God, help us never take Your Word or the wisdom it contains for granted. Give us a passion for learning and a thirst for Your Truth. Fill us with the courage to ask hard questions and seek wise answers from You alone. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

REFLECT AND RESPOND:
More than 3,000 years ago, the queen of Sheba sought the wisdom of King Solomon and discovered its Source, making her a worthy role model for her modern sisters. Solomon likely penned most of the book of Proverbs in the Bible. Consider reading one chapter a day, starting today. If you do, you will have read the entire book of Proverbs in a month.

Of the three needs mentioned here in our quest for wisdom — time, sacrifice, humility — which one is the most challenging for you? What step could you take this week to help you begin to overcome that obstacle and grow in wisdom?
